Each year at the Wesak Festival – the full moon of Taurus – an extraordinary influx of spiritual energy pours into the world.

Alice Bailey described time as a focused pulse of energy on inner levels, noting that “time is an event, and an event is a focussed expression of force.”

Wesak, as a cosmic event, is thus a powerful concentration of divine force.

At the exact full moon a profound chain of energy transmission unfolds – from The One down through the Buddha, to the Christ, to humanity. This staged step-down of energies functions like a step-down electrical transformer: the highest spiritual voltage (too intense for direct human contact) is modulated in stages until it can be safely received by the world.

Now, here is what’s important: For this divine inflow to have practical effect, it must be received and anchored by human consciousness. The vibrational significance of Wesak, therefore, is twofold: there is the incoming transmission, and the aspect of reception and radiation by humanity.

This brings us to the scientific principle of resonance: when we tune our mind and heart to the keynote of Wesak – which is unity, goodwill and enlightenment – we begin to vibrate in harmony with that great incoming wave of energy. Much like a radio receiver must be tuned to the correct frequency to pick up a broadcast, a spiritual seeker must achieve a degree of inner alignment to pick up the subtle Wesak transmission.

Meditation, prayer and concentrated intent act as the tuning mechanisms that synchronize our subtle bodies to the higher frequencies. When successful, the result is a noticeable inner uplift: an expansion of consciousness, influx of insight, and a dynamic impulse toward loving action.

Purity and preparation determine how fully one can receive these energies. Those who have prepared their minds and hearts become like magnetic channels that attract and anchor the uplifting energies. Without such preparation, however, the divine energy will simply flow through us without anchoring. In other words, if our energy field is cluttered with selfish thoughts or agitated emotions, the high vibrations cannot anchor; they pass out without effect. Thus, the science of reception is essentially the science of alignment and coherence: the more coherent (focused, purified, altruistic) one’s energy field, the more of the Wesak influx it can absorb and hold.

Once absorbed, these energies do not lie dormant; they seek expression. Thus those who consciously take in the Wesak force become reservoirs of light for humanity. They are tasked to radiate that light and love outward through their thoughts, words, and deeds in the ensuing months.

Wesak, then, is not just a celestial event – it is a call to action – a time to actively engage in receiving and radiating higher energies. Take time to meditate, set clear intentions, and consciously align your thoughts and actions with the qualities of love, compassion, and unity. Share this energy by reaching out to others, performing acts of kindness, and uplifting those around you. The real power of Wesak lies in what we do with the energy we receive – use it to inspire, heal, and elevate the world. Are you in on it?
