Today I would like to tell you a short story.

Once upon a time a hermit was meditating by a river when a young man interrupted him. “Master, I wish to become your disciple,” said the man. “Why,” replied the hermit. The young man thought for a moment, “Because I want to find God.” The master jumped up, grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, dragged him into the river, and plunged his head under water. After holding him there for a minute, with him kicking and struggling to free himself, the master finally pulled him up out of the river. The young man coughed up water and gasped to get his breath. When he eventually quieted down, the master spoke, “Tell me, what did you want most of all when you were under water.” “Air,” answered the man. “Very well,” said the master. “Go home and come back to me when you want God as much as you just wanted air.“

Now, I am not sure about the author of this little parable, but I guess it could be from Paramahansa Yogananda who is famous for saying, „If you want to realize God, you must want God like a drowning man wants air.“

It is an open secret amongst successful people that whatever you want to achieve in life, you have to develop a burning desire to achieve it.

If you want to become a world famous author, you have to develop a burning desire to become one. If you want to become a millionaire, you have to develop an insatiable desire to become one – and that insatiable desire will literally carry you to your goal.

Now, the same is true when it comes to realizing our Divinity and breaking free from the wheel of rebirth, which is the whole purpose of life – so putting all your desire into your Self Realization would be a smart thing to do.

If you want to realize your divinity, you have to develop an insatiable desire to realize the Spirit of divinity in your heart, or else you will not realize it. It is really that simple. What manifests in life is where you put your attention.

So I would like to invite you today to meditate on this parable, on your desires, goals and aspirations, and what your big goal is for your life. And once you know what that goal is, pour all your heart and soul and mind and might into it, and it will be yours. And so ideally you pick a goal that you can take with you at the end of this life, because it will be yours for eternity.

Please think about it. I hope I could be of service to you today. Have a great day. Bye.
