We all walk the path of evolution, we are all evolving; and what we are evolving towards is a beautiful space or state of consciousness, called being Soul conscious, being enlightened, being awake.
Every single day is an opportunity to take a step forward towards our evolutionary goal. Whether we take a step forward or not depends on the choices we make on a moment-to-moment basis. Each day when we get up to live our lives we get a choice: play the victim and don’t evolve our consciousness or play at virtuoso level and develop our consciousness.
The purpose of life is to evolve our consciousness, to expand our consciousness: to grow conscious of more and more divine ideas, truths and realities; to expand our vision so we may have a better understanding of life and self and the world. Ultimately, this is what being Soul conscious means. It means to look at life from the expanded vision of the Soul.
And so, every single day is an opportunity to learn to do that. Every single moment is an opportunity to choose growth over stagnancy. That’s the power of choice. How much we grow or not grow in this life of ours lies in our own hands. Not entirely, from a cosmic perspective because there are energies playing upon us that are so much bigger than anything we can even conceive of – if we compared the physical body to the infinite cosmos, you and I, we are not even an independent cell in the body – so, life is so much bigger than anything we can even conceive of and being embedded in an infinite cosmos that has its own evolutionary goal, free will, free choice is a relative term, but nevertheless through the power of choice we can take our Spiritual awakening into our own hands – for Earthly terms.
So here is your assignment if you are ready to take some action and initiate some growth: Every morning, when you wake up from sleep, choose to not just go but grow through the day that is ahead of you. Remind yourself that you are in school here. Graduation from this school is called ascension or enlightenment. Integrated ascension is not something we attain in one big burst of action, it is something we attain step-by-step, choice-by-choice, life-by-life.
So we have working towards our current evolutionary goal of becoming Soul conscious and growing ourselves into Integrated Enlightened Masters and Yogis over many lifetimes. This is not something you accomplish in one short life. However, what is different this time around, in this lifetime, in this incarnation, is that we have reached the point of graduation. If we use this life here and now wisely, we can actually graduate from this Earthly school and attain freedom from the wheel of rebirth. So make sure you don’t have to repeat the class by making a conscious decision to become Soul conscious and transform yourself into an Integrated Enlightened Master in the remainder of this lifetime.
